Kepos Street Kitchen in Redfern

Breakfast bounty from Kepos Street Kitchen

Non-negotiable: the Coogee to Bondi beach walk

Best name award goes to Fleetwood Macchiato

Last but not least: good friends and good wine

The Sydney food scene is based on what's hot and that changes, oh, about every second week. It's been two years since I've lived by the harbour-city's good beaches and I started to realise my fave spots placed me in a very specific 'time' that was a little less than current! Luckily my divine friends who work in travel and magazines happen to be most clued in on the best new spots and a jaunt was arranged.

I've been effusive about Kitchen by Mike already, but another new favourite is Kepos Street Kitchen in Redfern. It has beautiful whitewashed walls, blue and white tiles, and a really great Middle Eastern-inspired menu. Another cute find is Fleetwood Macchiato in Erskineville. You can't really go past the name, can you? Something that never changes though is how stunning the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk is and Sydney turned on some sparkling weather to remind me what I'm missing out on. Ahhhhh!
